Family and friends,
Happy Easter to you! For Easter, we went to President Riggs home early
in the morning to plan for our upcoming round of Zone Conferences.
After planning, we ate some REALLY good French Toast and did an Easter
egg hunt with his family. That was a lot of fun and I enjoyed that
leading into conference that morning.
Zeph got baptized! It was a nice and short service and he was just
extremely happy about that day. It was his 21st birthday on the 2nd so
that was a very special day for him. His family came and they were
happy for him. I enjoy watching the Atonement change people's lives,
including mine. I'm thankful I had the opportunity to help Zeph take
another step toward coming to Christ. He will be confirmed this
upcoming Sunday in Sacrament Meeting because this week was General
Conference.
Speaking of GC, I was extremely impressed by some of the talks and
counsel given. On my mission, the more I have come to understand the
gospel, the more that the talks have started to really apply to my
life. It's hard to remember all the names of who said what, but a few
messages jumped out to me.
1. The Family is super important!! We need to strive to develop strong
family relationships and allow our families to be a place where the
Gospel is taught.
2. Agency in the role of the Plan of Salvation. It's not necessarily
just keeping the commandments, but it's about making right choices
every single time because that is the kind of person you have become.
I think that this is where I see myself needing the most improvement.
I just want to be the person that has so much light in my life that
when temptations come, it easy to resist.
3. Faith in Jesus Christ. In the church as a whole, I think we need to
trust just a little bit more. It's hard for me at times to really
fathom all that he did and so I might shrug it off. It really is
amazing to se the power of the Atonement come into your life,
especially when receiving additional strength.
Transfer week! Busy times ahead for us. We are both staying and so
that is good. Wish me luck and hopefully we can get some sleep! I am
excited for the companionships this transfer.
Love you Dad. I am exited for the next priesthood session of
conference! Have a good week.
Elder Westover
