 Apartment shot
Eddie, Elder Johnson and I at the DC visitors center
Hello family and friends!

Elder Johnson and I sure had an interesting week!  Eddie is having his baptism on Saturday and so we met with him to make sure he is ready.  Now, he has to pass the interview, but I think he is ready to go.

On Friday,  Eddie drove us up to the Temple Visitors Center to take a tour.  We watched the Joseph Smith video and that was a really powerful experience. The cool part was that we got to watch the movie in a huge theatre that fits about 1,000 people and it was just us 3.  It was the closest thing to a theatre I will see for about 17 months!  The sister also gave us a tour and it was a neat experience.

It seems like it might get snowy here early this week but after that I am hoping it will warm up.  Although I enjoy the biking, I would like to do it in something warmer than 25 degree weather.  It's hard to complain when you see so many miracles and blessings though, that is for sure.

My first District Meeting went really well!  We set a goal as a district to find10 new and we found 11!  I was pretty proud when the numbers came in.  Granted, Elder Johnson and I went out and found 5, but the Lord provided a way for the miracles to take place.  As we show our faith and trust in Him, we are led and shown where to be.  In 1 Nephi 16:16, we learn the Liahona guided Lehi's family to the fertile parts of the land. He will do the same for us as we show our faith and Diligence.

I love this work and am so lucky to be a part of it!  I am glad to be a part of the hastening, but then again I am starting to get out of shape to keep up.  The blessings are waiting for us but we need to act to receive all He has to offer.  This is our time.  I hope you all have a good week!  I loved the pictures from the cheer competition. That for sure is a cool experience for Emery!  Be safe and choose the right!

Hey Everybody,

Transfers have come again! My new companion is Elder Johnson and he is from the Morgan Utah area.  My first companion from Utah.  He is a great guy.  Elder Johnson just hit about 4 and a half months and I am now at 6,  so we are both young guys but it is great!

Not to many new things have happened. We have 7 people on date and I am hoping that everything works out and that they will be ready for baptism.  It has been a blessing to be part of their life and to really see the spirit change them.  It is powerful!

This week I am planning to spend a lot of time finding and seeing how many new people we can find to teach.  I have seen that when I focus my prayers and efforts on something, the Lord WILL provide a way.  I do not doubt that.  I will let you know the miracles and stories that come from that!

I miss golf so much. We have been talking about it a lot in the apartment and it sounds like a lot of fun.  Seeing the Circle K drinks and all of your clubs and the course in the pictures you sent, makes me miss it!  It was good to see grandpa and Uncle Ernie! I miss them.

Well, I hope that you have a good week and enjoy the life around you! Be safe and have a good week!

Love,
Elder Westover

Nana Yaa Wadie baptism
Hey Everyone!

This week we had Nana's baptism!  I will never look at a baptism the same way.  It feels so good to see people change and to choose to follow Christ in their life.  She was so happy and had a big smile on her face.  Even yesterday ay church everyone was so happy for her and her smile was priceless. Those are the moments I guess you will never forget.  All those snowy and cold bike rides made it worth it for me and for her.  I am so blessed to be a part of the hastening of the Lord's work.

We met a man yesterday who also came to church. He has had a hard life.  He had been hit by a bus, lost his leg, shot 4 times and was convicted to serve in jail for 20 years but only had to serve for 8 years and 8 months.  And he is 32 years old. The man is the most humble man I have met on my mission.  He wants to follow Jesus Christ and learn who He is.  I am so proud to be able to help him and show him how much happiness he can have.

The Phoenix Open was last week.  I miss playing golf a lot. That will be something I want to practice when I return. Six months on the 7th.  I guess time does fly?!  I love you and I hope you have a great week!
